When I started on my path to professional librarianship I knew I liked teachnology, learning, organizing, and customer service. I was excited about emerging trends and issues in libraries and scholarly communication. I enjoyed connecting people with what they needed.
Working in libraries and higher education has made me appreciate those aptitudes in myself, but I have also learned about the challenges and changes that libraries face. I've learned a lot in the years since finishing my graduate program, and look forward to the experiences that will shape me into a better librarian.
